Overview

GBR Recruitment Limited is working exclusively on a new and highly interesting construction opportunity. We are recruiting a Junior Project Coordinator / Estimator to join our client’s progressive interior fit‑outs business in Lincolnshire.

Ideal candidates will have interior fit‑outs experience or a background in construction or engineering. Those without interior fit‑outs experience are welcome to apply as the client will consider estimators from any construction or engineering background.

Duties
  • Handle multiple interior fit‑outs and refurbishment projects, generally ranging from £30K‑£100K, with occasional projects exceeding £100K.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings to take off quantities.
  • Support tender applications and bids, including RFI and RFQ documents.
  • Prepare subcontractor and material enquiries.
  • Produce bills of quantities (BOQs).
  • Prepare estimates and cost plans from gathered information.
  • Communicate with material suppliers and place orders to ensure project completion to the desired standard and specifications.
Attributes / Qualifications
  • Some estimating experience within interior fit‑outs, general construction or engineering.
  • Experience in any construction form, ideally within commercial offices, education facilities, sports & leisure, etc.
  • Familiarity with Tier 1 main contractors and Tier 2 & 3 contractors.
  • Basic trade experience beneficial but not required.
  • Basic understanding of H&S in the built environment.
  • Some AutoCAD experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Location and Commute

This diverse estimating role is commutable from Lincoln, Sleaford, Spalding, Boston, Newark, Grantham, Ancaster, Navenby, Rushkington, Woodhall Spa, Horncastle, Spilsby, Bardney, Skegness, Cranwell, Wragby, Tattershall and surrounding areas.

Other Details

Suitable for candidates currently working as an Assistant Estimator, Trainee Estimator, Junior Quantity Surveyor, Costing Coordinator, Junior Cost Estimator, Kitchen Designer, Bedroom Furniture Designer, Fitted Furniture Designer, Junior Cost Planner, Cost Planner, Business Support Coordinator or Project Coordinator. All levels of estimating experience will be considered.

Position: 5 working days (Monday to Friday) in the office, with occasional visits to client sites. Core working hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Interviews will take place immediately, and the successful candidate may start ASAP.
