Junior Production Manager

Location: Crawley / Gatwick area

Type: Full-time, On-site

Reports to: Head of Operations

Overview

We're looking for a hands-on Junior Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations for a fast-growing sports nutrition and wellness brand. The Production Manager will take full ownership of factory output, production planning, and team performance across both powder and liquid product lines.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Planning
  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations including blending, filling, labelling, and packaging
  • Manage production schedules and adjust plans based on changing demand
  • Maintain accurate work orders, yields, and production data in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
Team Leadership
  • Lead, train, and motivate production operators and shift leaders
  • Set performance goals and ensure a safe, high-quality working environment
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Uphold HACCP, GMP, and Health & Safety standards
  • Ensure accurate batch records, allergen control, and traceability
Inventory & Materials Control
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to maintain materials flow
  • Ensure BOM accuracy, batch control, and real-time inventory management
Continuous Improvement
  • Track KPIs on output, waste, and downtime
  • Drive efficiency and implement LEAN principles
Production Manager Requirements
  • 3+ years in FMCG, food, beverage, or nutraceutical manufacturing
  • Proven experience managing production teams
