Junior Transport Planner

Location: Avonmouth Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum Reports to: Transport Manager Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Transport Planner to join our team in Avonmouth. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of transport operations and familiarity with the Bristol and Southwest region. You’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient pallet collections and deliveries across the area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and allocate daily pallet collections and deliveries.
  • Route and schedule vehicles (3.5T to 44T) for optimal fleet utilization.
  • Process driver paperwork and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with drivers to communicate schedules and resolve operational issues.
  • Handle customer delivery queries professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor job progress and elevate issues to the Network Manager when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • 1–2 years’ experience in transport or logistics planning (pallet network experience desirable).
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of routing, compliance, and transport operations.
  • Proficient in TMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Bristol and Southwest region advantageous.
