Job summary

ZAVA is seeking a GPhC-registered Junior Pharmacist for our Milton Keynes site in Wolverton. This non-patient-facing digital pharmacy role focuses on labeling, dispensing and checking prescriptions, with RP responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration to support our online doctor service.

You will develop in a scale-up environment, benefit from CPD support, annual training budget, and a structured career path while contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Qualified pharmacist with GPhC registration.
• Familiar with UK pharmacy requirements and regulations.
• Ability to perform clinical checks and final checks on dispensed items.

Responsibilities

• Working in the remote pharmacy to safely label, dispense and check medications against digitally signed prescriptions.
• Acting as Responsible Pharmacist (RP) when on-site pharmacist is unavailable.
• Performing clinical and final checks on patient data and dispensed medications.
• Maintaining stock levels and liaising with suppliers for timely deliveries.
• Lead or contribute to process improvements and audits.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Patient Care and Clinical teams.
• Uphold ethical, professional and legal pharmacy standards.
• Handle dispensing and packaging of medications and test kits with attention to detail.
• Assist with bulk stock deliveries and physical handling of items.

About The Role

We're looking for a GPhC-registered Junior Pharmacist who is tech-savvy, eager to learn, and interested in how the healthcare industry is evolving in the digital world.
This is a great opportunity to work in a non-patient-facing digital pharmacy setting. We see this as a chance to develop professionally in areas beyond direct, face-to-face consultation.
Our pharmacy is based at our site in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, from which we dispatch medications to patients across the UK.
This position is ideal for a forward-thinking candidate keen to grow their experience within a scale-up environment.

What you'll own

• Working in our remote pharmacy — safely and efficiently label, dispense and check medication against digitally signed prescriptions, in line with current legal, professional and ethical frameworks.
• Acting as Responsible Pharmacist (RP) — understand the accountabilities of an RP and work closely with our small pharmacy team; you will be the primary responsible pharmacist when the pharmacy manager is not on site.
• Performing clinical and final checks — review patient data to carry out in-depth clinical checks, ensuring patients receive appropriate treatment, as well as final checks of dispensed medications.
• Supporting the dispensary — maintain appropriate stock levels and supplies, liaising closely with suppliers to ensure correct volumes arrive promptly, safely and intact.
• Improving our services — help enhance and innovate our processes through reviews and audits, with the opportunity to lead or contribute to projects.
• Working cross-functionally — collaborate with other teams, including Patient Care and Clinical, to support our online doctor service.
• Upholding standards — adhere to ethical, professional and legal pharmacy standards at all times.
• Handling the technical side of the dispensary — including ordering, labelling, dispensing and packaging of medications and test kits, with close attention to detail on high-volume, repetitive tasks at scale.
• Assisting with bulk stock deliveries — occasionally helping bring stock and sundries into the office, including lifting trays of ice packs (approx. 20kg) into freezers. You must be physically able to lift this safely; manual handling training is provided.

What we’re looking for

• Qualified pharmacist, fully registered with the GPhC

• Competent with basic IT programmes, such as the Google Drive suite.
• Good understanding of UK pharmacy requirements and regulations.
• Able to clinically check prescriptions and perform final checks on dispensed items, accurately and efficiently.
• Eager to learn and develop a career in digital health.
