Job summary

Moneyfarm is hiring a Junior Middle Office Analyst to support the trading team across DPM and Execution-Only activities. You will handle order routing, monitor execution, and help with TCA reports and board packs.

The role involves treasury operations, settlement dispatch, and daily liaison with brokers and counterparties. The ideal candidate has a quantitative background with Python/SQL experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with order routing, monitoring, and execution across Discretionary Portfolio Management and Execution-Only lines.
• Provide trading desk coverage during holidays and peak trading windows.
• Prepare Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reports and assemble board packs for Best Execution Committee.
• Support ad-hoc reporting requests for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in setup and onboarding of new financial products.
• Utilise Python and SQL tools to monitor trading activity and resolve complex inquiries.
• Maintain daily operational communication with market counterparties, brokers, and custodians.
• Facilitate daily trade matching, affirmation, and settlement dispatch to custodians.
• Execute treasury operations including payments, liquidity transfers, and ledger maintenance.
• Investigate and resolve cash, stock, and position reconciliation issues with back-office teams.
• Monitor trade settlement status and liaise with counterparties to fix failed trades.
• Track corporate actions to ensure correct position adjustments.
• Assist back-office teams with trade-related calculations and adjustments.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Middle Office Analyst to support our new trading team.

Main responsibilities:

• Trading/Execution
  • Assist with order routing, monitoring, and execution across Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) and Execution-Only (XO) business lines.
  • Provide trading desk coverage and order execution support during team holidays and peak trading windows.
  • Assist in monitoring execution quality, preparing Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reports, and assembling board packs for the Best Execution Committee.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the setup and instrument onboarding processes for new financial products.
  • Utilise internal Python and SQL tools to monitor trading activity and resolve complex client execution inquiries.
  • Maintain daily operational communication with market counterparties, brokers, and custodians.
• Middle Office, Treasury & Settlements
  • Facilitate daily trade matching, affirmation, and settlement instruction dispatch to custodians.
  • Execute daily treasury operations, including bank payment processing, liquidity transfers, and ledger maintenance.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve daily cash, stock, and position reconciliation breaks with back-office teams.
  • Monitor trade settlement status and liaise directly with counterparties to resolve failed trades or operational exceptions.
  • Track and manage corporate action notifications to ensure accurate position adjustments in client accounts.
  • Assist back-office teams with trade-related calculations and adjustments.

• Education & Technical Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative, scientific, or financial discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Finance).
  • Good understanding of functioning of financial markets
  • Good knowledge of ETFs
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (data manipulation, financial modeling formulas).
  • Working knowledge or academic experience in Python and SQL for data analysis and scripting.
  • Exposure to financial market data terminals (Bloomberg Terminal or Refinitiv/Eikon) is advantageous.
