Role Purpose
To design, develop, and maintain systems and processes that enable the efficient production of data and reports required across the business. The role is also responsible for ensuring that system changes are implemented accurately, on time, and in alignment with established governance frameworks. In addition, the role supports internal and external stakeholders by responding to ad-hoc data and reporting requests through the development of reports and scripts that extract information from various databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain management information and reports to support daily operations and strategic decision making.
- Administer MI systems, coordinating data imports and ensuring accuracy across multiple sources.
- Oversee customer data migration to new platforms where required.
- Design and maintain reports, configurations, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with data retention, encryption, deletion, and information security policies.
- Escalate issues promptly to the line manager.
- Configure and maintain product definitions within databases.
- Continuously improve processes, prioritising automation and consistency in reporting.
- Support departmental KPIs and deliver business critical reporting for senior management.
- Represent the company professionally and adhere to all security, access, and regulatory policies (including FCA, DPA, and TCF requirements).
- Undertake additional duties and projects as directed.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in MI development and hands on work with Microsoft SQL Server (latest versions).
- Strong T-SQL and advanced Excel (including VBA) and MS Office skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication abilities.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, under pressure, and as part of a team.
- Skilled in producing ad-hoc queries and developing reports from technical requirements.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in General Insurance and familiarity with the Open GI platform.
- Knowledge of OLTP/OLAP database structures.
- Proficiency in Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Experience with Databricks SQL and Excel automation tools.
