JUNIOR MERCHANDISER
Role Overview
As a Junior Merchandiser, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Buying & Merchandising in planning, trading, and optimising stock performance across the business. You will take ownership of reporting, forecasting, and stock management to ensure product availability and healthy sell-through.
This role is ideal for someone ready to step up from a Merchandising Assistant position or already in a Junior Merchandising role but is looking to expand their skillset and work across departments. Must be commercially minded, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, luxury retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management & Trading
- Manage stock movements across Retail, E-Commerce, and Wholesale channels, ensuring timely allocations and deliveries.
- Maintain and monitor stock levels across all locations, ensuring optimum availability to meet sales targets.
- Lead weekly trading analysis, identifying bestsellers, slow movers, and key opportunities.
- Manage replenishment and propose actions to drive sell-through and optimise stock health.
- Support the OTB (Open-To-Buy) and WSSI (Weekly Sales, Stock & Intake) planning process.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce weekly trading reports and performance summaries for management.
- Analyse sales, margin, and stock data to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct trend, and product lifecycle analysis to support range planning and future buys.
- Provide insights on pricing, assortment, and product performance across all channels.
Product & Planning Support
- Own product setup and maintenance in ERP, ensuring accuracy of data, RRPs, COGs, and seasonal codes.
- Partner with the Supply Chain and Commercial teams to deliver new product launches and range transitions.
- Collaborate with E-Commerce and Retail to align product availability with marketing and VM plans.
- Contribute to the seasonal range plan, providing data-led input on category performance and opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in a merchandising or planning role within luxury or premium fashion retail.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, trading, and merchandise planning.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas).
- Experience working with ERP systems (Brightpearl or similar).
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Confident communicator who can present findings and influence decisions.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
