Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

• Job Type: Full–time
• Location: Andover
• Salary: 27,000 to 35,000

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. This role is ideal for a school, college or University graduate eager to assist senior engineers with the design and production of 3D models and drawings for manufacturing whilst growing their own skills and abilities. You will be working closely with Senior Engineers, Production, Procurement, and Sales teams, contributing to projects involving bespoke rigid vehicles and trailers for commercial and military applications.

Day–to–day of the role:

• Produce high–standard production drawings and assist senior engineers in transforming concept designs into detailed technical drawings.
• Adopt and enhance existing designs in accordance with the company's established design principles.
• Receive training on systems used in modern–day commercial vehicles to better understand their workings and produce complementary drawings and designs.
• Collaborate closely with Senior Engineers, Production, Procurement, and Sales departments to ensure design specifications meet functional and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualifications in English, Maths, and Science (Grade 4 or above), with a strong background in Art or Technical Studies.
• Experience with Microsoft Products is essential.
• Some experience or familiarity with Computer Aided Design tools is advantageous, though full training on the latest 3D design software and some 2D drafting will be provided.
• Highly motivated with a passion for innovation and a keen interest in mechanical design.
• Ability to work effectively within a small team and contribute to collaborative projects.
