Job description

I am partnered with a top international law firm in the City London, supporting a busy and collaborative team — with opportunities to work across different practice areas

The firm deliver a comprehensive legal service to a diverse client base, including multinational corporations, public and private companies, partnerships, public sector bodies, and high-net-worth individuals.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Legal PA will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to a minimum of five fee earners, working closely with a more senior Legal PA. The role will also involve contributing to a centralised travel booking function for the firm.

  • Produce accurate, timely typing and document preparation.
  • Maintain and update client files, including opening and closing matters and managing relevant documentation.
  • Prepare draft bills and liaise with fee earners regarding billing information.
  • Create and maintain client records on the firm’s case management system.
  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings, book conferences, and arrange lunches.
  • Organise departmental file reviews, liaising with Risk & Compliance to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Arrange and book training courses for fee earners, including liaising with Accounts for payment.
  • Greet visiting clients and prepare meeting rooms when required.
  • Coordinate travel bookings for fee earners.
  • Assist the wider secretarial team during busy periods.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
Professional Skills & Experience
  • Understanding of legal terminology.
  • Ability to anticipate fee earners’ needs and remain “one step ahead.”
  • Fast, accurate typing skills with excellent grammar and spelling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure.
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Formal secretarial training (e.g. CILEx) desirable but not essential.
