THE EMPLOYER IS: AETHERIA TECHNOLOGY LTDThe Junior IT Support Assistant is an entry-level role designed to provide structured, supervised experience within a professional IT environment. This role has been created specifically as part of the JobStart Scheme and focuses on developing core IT support and employability skills to support progression into sustained employment or further training.The successful candidate will support day-to-day IT support activities while completing structured training and development, working closely with the director/owner to gain hands-on experience and practical insight into an IT support role.This position is suitable for an individual at the start of their IT career who is keen to learn, develop technical skills, and build workplace confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Providing first-line IT support to users, including basic troubleshooting and user assistance.
  • Providing first-line IT support to users, including basic troubleshooting and user assistance.
  • Supporting the setup and configuration of laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Assisting with user onboarding and offboarding processes within Microsoft 365.
  • Logging, updating, and tracking support requests using an IT ticketing or task management system.
  • Creating and updating basic IT documentation, user guides, and process notes.
  • Supporting internal IT administration tasks and maintaining accurate records.
  • Developing awareness of cybersecurity best practices and following security procedures.
  • Shadowing the director/owner during IT support activities to gain real-world experience.
  • Participating in training, supervision meetings, and progress reviews.
Skills and Qualifications
  • An interest in IT, technology, or digital systems.
  • Basic understanding of computers, laptops, and common software applications.
  • Willingness to learn and take instruction.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow processes and work to instructions.
  • Basic organisational and time-management skills.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Previous exposure to IT support, technology, or digital learning (formal or informal).
  • An interest in pursuing a career in IT support, cybersecurity, or cloud technologies.
  • Basic understanding of customer service principles.
  • Experience using computers for study, work, or personal projects.
  • Driving Licence.
