You’ll join a talented team of four Developers and get a rare chance as a Junior to make real impact on a cutting edge SaaS platform, influencing greenfield projects and new products from day one.

About the business

They are an ambitious startup on a mission to build a cutting-edge SaaS product from the ground up. As a fast-moving team, they thrive in a dynamic environment where innovation and rapid delivery are part of their daily process. Although they’re currently a lean team with limited benefits, their vision for growth means ample opportunities to expand their offerings as they succeed.

Role Overview

They are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Instructional Designer to join their content and product team. In this role, you will help shape engaging learning experiences for their new SaaS platform and bespoke client projects. You will work across digital learning design, video editing, storyboarding, and script development — collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and subject matter experts.

You should be comfortable designing structured learning pathways, simplifying complex topics, and producing high-quality media assets that enhance the learner experience. This role also offers opportunities to speak directly with clients to understand their needs and translate them into effective learning content.

Key Responsibilities
Learning Design & Content Creation
  • Design clear, engaging instructional materials including scripts, storyboards, on-screen text, learner activities, and narrative flow.
  • Transform technical or complex information into accessible, learner-friendly experiences.
Multimedia & Video Production
  • Edit and assemble video content for training modules using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent.
  • Produce simple motion graphics, overlays, or visual elements to support clear instruction.
  • Assist in audio, screen capture, and visual asset preparation.
Collaboration with Product & Development Teams
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to integrate content into immersive and interactive platforms.
  • Participate in creative workshops and sprint reviews to refine learning journeys.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Quickly turn concepts or requirements into early drafts, mock-ups, or rough cuts for testing and stakeholder review.
Client Interaction
  • Occasionally join client meetings to gather requirements, present ideas, and explain learning design decisions in a clear, accessible way.
Quality & Iteration
  • Test learning experiences, gather feedback, and iterate to continuously enhance engagement and clarity.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, accessibility, and brand alignment.
Documentation
  • Document content structures, scripts, asset lists, and learning pathways to support smooth production and future updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Instructional & Creative Skills
  • Strong ability to design structured, engaging learning content.
  • Experience writing scripts, storyboards, or educational materials.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Video Editing & Media Production
  • Competence using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of sound editing, colour correction, and video composition.
Communication Skills
  • Confident communicator who can articulate ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable participating in client meetings.
Adaptability
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Team Player
  • Eagerness to learn, experiment, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
  • Experience designing learning within platforms such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Unity, or 3D / immersive environments.
  • Understanding of basic learning theory or instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Gagné).
  • Driver’s licence (for site visits or filming days).
What They Offer
  • Growth Opportunities: As their product and client base grow, so will opportunities for career development and expanded benefits.
