TP Bennett in London is hiring a Junior Inclusive Designer to support the Technical Group and embed inclusive design across architecture, interior design and strategy.

You will assist in stakeholder engagement, research user needs, and contribute to design reviews and client deliverables, while learning to advance inclusive design across projects and stages.

Qualifications

• A degree related to architecture, interior design, inclusive design, human factors, ergonomics, urban planning or similar.
• Commitment to / interest in access and inclusive design or equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Knowledge of UK equality legislation, building regulations, approvals process and planning.
• Competency in InDesign, Photoshop, Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and visual communication skills.
• Interest in pursuing NRAC registration.

Responsabilités

• Conduct research into user needs, inclusive design guidance and best practice.
• Undertaking detailed inclusive design reviews by checking drawings against access principles and standards.
• Support site surveys and audits, recording observations and documenting them via reports.
• Assist with preparation of technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Attend meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.
• Undertaking work across several varying projects at the same time.
• Work to ensure service and project work meet deadlines and decisions.

Our London Studio at TP BENNETT are hiring for a Junior Inclusive Designer to support our growing Technical Group. As a Junior Inclusive Designer, you will support project teams in achieving inclusive design best practice by embedding inclusivity principles into our projects and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

You will support the Inclusive Design Lead in developing inclusive design initiatives across the practice; understanding the needs and experiences of diverse users and using those insights to inform better design decisions.

This role will embed inclusive design across the practice’s varied and exciting architecture, interior design and strategy divisions. You will passionately and persuasively champion inclusive design on projects throughout all RIBA Stages, on UK and international projects, across a wide range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with stakeholder engagement and lived experience engagement at the commencement of a project, throughout the design stages and post-occupancy.
• Conduct research into user needs, inclusive design guidance and emerging best practice.
• Undertaking detailed inclusive design reviews of projects by checking architectural drawings against access and inclusive design principles and standards.
• Support site surveys and audits, recording observations and documenting them via report.
• Assist with the preparation of technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Alongside senior staff, attending meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.
• Undertaking work across several varying projects at the same time.
• Working to ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and that appropriate service/design decisions are met.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• A degree related to architecture, interior design, inclusive design, human factors, ergonomics, urban planning, geography or similar subjects
• Demonstrable commitment to / interest in access and inclusive design or equality, diversity and inclusion
• Working knowledge of UK equality legislation, building regulations, statutory approvals process and planning processes.
• Competency in use of InDesign, Photoshop, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and visual communication skills.
• An interest in pursuing, or actively pursuing NRAC registration.
