Job summary

Linklaters in London is hiring for a FinOps analyst to support the collection and reporting of technology, data and AI financial data. You will develop dashboards and metrics to improve cost transparency and enable informed decision-making across the technology estate.

You will work with product, engineering, procurement and finance teams to analyse spend, forecast budgets and support governance, cost allocation and service ownership. Hybrid working model available in the London office.

Qualifications

  • Experience collecting, analysing and interpreting data from multiple sources.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of financial management, budgeting or reporting processes.
  • Experience using Excel and reporting tools to prepare data and MI.
  • Ability to produce clear reports, dashboards and presentations for decision making.

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available. The role Supports the collection, validation and reporting of Technology, Data and AI financial and consumption data. Prepares the FinOps reporting, dashboards and performance metrics, helping to improve cost transparency and support informed decision-making across the technology estate. Collaborates with product, engineering, project, procurement and finance teams to improve cost visibility, forecasting, budgeting, governance and value-for-money decision-making across the technology estate. Gathers and supports the analysis of Technology, Data and AI cost data, including cloud consumption, AI token usage, SaaS subscriptions, infrastructure charges, licences and supplier commitments. Builds and maintains FinOps metrics, dashboards and reporting packs that provide visibility of spend usage, cost drivers, resource utilisation, service ownership, environments and business-area allocation. Produces regular FinOps reports and supports the analysis of spend and usage trends, helping to identify variances, risks and potential opportunities for review. Supports budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering data, maintaining records and assisting in the preparation of financial information relating to technology services. Assists with the review of spend and usage data to help identify cost trends, anomalies and opportunities for further investigation. Supports FinOps governance activities by helping to maintain accurate tagging, cost allocation, ownership information and financial records Collaborates with colleagues across technology, procurement and finance to improve the quality and accuracy of technology cost information. Communicates data and findings clearly to a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, with support from senior team members where appropriate.

About you
  • Experience working with data, reporting, finance, technology, procurement or operational information, with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret information from multiple sources.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify trends, patterns and anomalies.
  • Good understanding of financial management, budgeting or reporting processes, with an interest in developing knowledge of FinOps and technology cost management practices.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and reporting tools to prepare, maintain and present data, metrics and management information.
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate reports, dashboards and presentations that support informed decision-making.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and respond to stakeholder requests.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across Technology, Finance, Procurement and other business teams.
  • An interest in cloud technologies, AI services and technology financial management, with a willingness to learn and develop expertise in FinOps principles and practices.
  • Experience in a PMO, finance, procurement, business analysis, reporting or technology support environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
