Job summary

Control Risks is seeking a motivated Junior Assistant Accountant in Cardiff to join our Finance Operations team. You will support the Financial Accounting function across multiple entities, assisting with month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany, accruals and reporting, using D365 and Excel to drive accuracy and process improvements.

Ideal candidates will have a accounting degree, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong numeracy and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support posting of journals, accruals, prepayments and reclassifications.
• Assist with adhoc reconciliations when required.
• Review transactions for accuracy and appropriate coding.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with accounting queries.
• Assist with maintaining financial controls and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Support the clearance of aged balances and reconciliation differences.
• Produce routine financial reports and schedules.
• Assist in preparing audit support documentation.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all accounting entries.
• Utilise D365 Finance & Operations and Excel to perform accounting activities.
• Support process improvement and data cleansing.
• Ensure adherence to finance operating procedures and controls.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Operations team in Cardiff. The role will support the Financial Accounting function across multiple legal entities, assisting with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, accruals, prepayments, and financial reporting activities.

This position is ideal for an individual looking to develop a career in accountancy within a global organisation and gain exposure to financial accounting processes, ERP systems, and multinational finance operations.

What You'll Do:

Financial Accounting

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.

Who You Are:

• Exposure to reconciliations, month-end processes or journal postings.
