A South Yorkshire law firm in Barnsley is seeking a Junior Family Solicitor to join its established Family team. This role suits a newly qualified solicitor or someone with up to about 3 years’ PQE, offering mentoring and career progression within a supportive environment.

You will handle a developing caseload across divorce, financial remedy, and private children matters, with supervision and opportunities to grow expertise in family law.

Qualifications

• NQ to 3 years' PQE in Family Law.
• Experience handling or assisting with private family matters during training or post-qualification.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and manage your own caseload of private family matters, including divorce and separation, financial remedy, and private children disputes.
• Work closely with experienced Family team members and receive ongoing supervision and mentoring.
• Provide general family law advice and client support as part of a collaborative department.

• Domestic abuse applications
• General family law advice

You'll receive ongoing supervision and mentoring, giving you the opportunity to build confidence, develop your technical skills and progress your career within a well-established department.

About You The successful candidate will ideally have:

• c. NQ - 3 years' PQE in Family Law
• Experience handling or assisting with private family matters during training or post-qualification
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• A compassionate and empathetic approach
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A genuine desire to build a long-term career in family law
