Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is recruiting a Junior Manufacturing Engineer in the UK. The role targets someone stepping away from the shop floor toward a future management path, with 5+ years in a fabrication/machining environment.

The position involves technical guidance, design support, quoting, orders, and process improvements, with emphasis on safety, quality, and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in an engineering workshop.
• Time served apprenticeship in milling/turning/toolmaking/fabrication.
• Preferable CAD experience with Inventor or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Technical advice and guidance for customers and shop floor staff.
• Assist in designing customer requirements from components to complete systems.
• Quote jobs and liaise with customers, develop into account management.
• Process orders, purchase materials, organize job packs.
• Streamline and improve machining and fabrication processes.
• Help maintain safety and quality standards.
• Assist with QMS and supplier coordination for recurring tasks.

Junior Manufacturing Engineer

My client are seeking someone who's looking for that first step away from the shop floor and into an eventual management role. Ideally you will have 5+ years experience working in a workshop in a fabrication/machining environment.

Responsibilities:

• Technical advice and guidance both for customers and shop floor staff
• Aiding in the design of customer requirements ranging from individual components up to complete mechanical systems and machines
• Quoting jobs and customer liaison, developing into complete customer account management
• Processing orders, purchasing material, organising job packs etc.
• Streamlining and improving existing processes in machining, fabrication etc.
• Helping to maintain safety and quality standards
• Assisting with the QMS and organising suppliers for recurring tasks (calibration, fire safety, machine servicing etc.)

Preferable qualifications/background:

• Time served Apprenticeship in milling/turning/toolmaking/fabrication
• Ideally HNC, but minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years experience in an engineering workshop
• Preferable CAD and design experience (Inventor or Solidworks)

Package

• 39 hours a week - half day on Friday
• 25 days holiday + bank hols (extra day per year up to a max of 27)
• £35k - £40k salary depending on experience and knowledge
