Junior Electrical Design Engineer

The Role

• Assist in creating 2D electrical schematics, layout drawings, and wiring diagrams using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical for bespoke control panels.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams to support the integration of control systems into equipment and installations.
• Support the panel build process by providing documentation and clarifying design intent to the assembly team.
• Help document design changes and participate in design reviews.
• Assist during testing, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) stages as needed.

The Person

• A formal qualification in Electrical or Engineering-related discipline (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent) or prior experience in a similar role.
• Experience in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience of fault finding on PLCs (Siemens TIA preferred) advantageous.
• A practical, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and strong attention to detail.
• A strong sense of responsibility and pride in your work.
• Located in Hampshire, this role would be commutable from Basingstoke, Farnborough, Aldershot or Winchester.
