Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Junior Regulatory Specialist for a client in the aerospace and uncrewed aviation sector. The role sits in the Regulations & Safety team and offers a permanent position for recent graduates or junior aviation professionals aspiring to specialise in regulatory compliance for unmanned aircraft operations.

You will monitor UK and international drone rules, help prepare regulatory submissions, support SORA assessments, and assist with airspace planning using GIS

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent in aviation, regulation, safety
• Awareness of regulatory frameworks including UK/EU drone rules (e.g., UK Regulation 2019/947, CAP1616) and FAA Part 107
• Familiarity with drone technology and uncrewed aircraft operations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; ability to influence and negotiate
• Willingness to travel internationally and obtain required clearances

Responsibilities

• Monitor local, regional and international drone regulations and standards
• Help develop airspace change requests, safety cases and SORA assessments
• Assist in developing strategies to maintain regulatory compliance for unmanned operations
• Prepare regulatory applications and supporting documentation
• Support airspace structure development using mapping and GIS tools
• Track progress of regulatory applications and related actions
• Coordinate with Flight Operations for future VLOS/BVLOS operations
• Support safety investigations and risk management under the Safety Manager
• Adhere to company policies and aviation safety requirements
