Overview

Are you an experienced Junior Designer looking for a new challenge? As the Junior Designer and Brand Advocate across wovens, you will be key to the creation and development of exciting, credible new ranges that will appeal to George customers that are aligned with seasonal trends and brand direction. You will be responsible to deliver stylishly designed products, ensuring quality, style and value is consistently delivered across our range. The categories that you will be working on include denim, casual bottoms, tailoring and outerwear. We’d ideally be looking for a number of years experience in garment design within the retail industry.

Working alongside the Senior designer, as the Junior Designer you will be empowered to drive the research of new trends and market information, informing decision making and be responsible for product development, keeping the George customer at the heart of what we do.

Qualifications
  • Experience within either a retail or supply base design environment and a strong eye for trend researching and producing innovative designs in line with customer needs.
  • Experience in working with UK and overseas suppliers / factories to develop multi‑category product.
  • A high knowledge of CAD software (including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • An innovative approach and desire to drive a more digital way of working.
  • A strategic mindset to contribute to key meetings, as well as a strong critical path understanding.
  • The ability to combine a number of research avenues – catwalks, social media, blogs & trend sites/books, etc to deliver innovative and commercial designs in collaboration with the line manager.
