Job summary

ABS Group seeks a Junior Data Scientist to join the AI Practice Team across Europe. Based in Warrington or London with some remote flexibility, you’ll support data preparation, analysis, and modeling for client engagements as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team.

Working with senior data scientists and domain experts, you will develop production-ready analytics, explore unstructured data with NLP, and build dashboards using Python and BI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of data science/ML experience in projects or roles.
• Proficient in Python, SQL and common ML libraries.
• Experience with AI/ML or analytics projects in real-world datasets.

Responsibilities

• Support AI consulting engagements by cleaning, structuring, and analyzing client data for modeling and insights.
• Contribute to development, testing, and documentation of ML models and analytics pipelines.
• Work with document/data services to extract and enrich information from reports, PDFs, logs using NLP.
• Build dashboards/reports/visualizations in Python/Power BI to communicate findings.
• Collaborate with consultants to translate business questions into analytical tasks and validate results.
• Maintain clean, reproducible project assets (code, notebooks, datasets) with version control.
