About the Role
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and logical thinking skills, a passion for solving problems, and hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
You will play an important role in transforming data into meaningful insights, developing dashboards and reports, investigating data-related issues, and creating clear technical documentation to support our business processes and reporting solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, understanding how systems work, and finding practical solutions to complex problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Power BI Development: Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.
- Excel Development: Design, build and maintain Excel reports
- Problem-Solving: Apply logical and structured thinking to troubleshoot data issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including data models, data flows, reporting logic, business rules, and process descriptions.
- Data Quality: Validate data accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and support improvements in data quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to ensure reporting solutions meet business requirements.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Practical experience using Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, data modelling, and DAX fundamentals.
- Practical experience using Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas (such as XLOOKUP, IF statements), PivotTables, Power Query, data analysis, and data modelling.
- Strong logical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to break down complex problems into manageable steps and develop structured solutions.
- Ability to produce clear, well-organised technical documentation.
- Good understanding of data structures, relationships, and reporting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
- A proactive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or seek support.
Desirable Skills
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Basic knowledge of Python.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data transformation.
- Understanding of data Warehouse/Lakehouse concepts.
- Experience documenting business processes, technical specifications, or data mapping.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or other Microsoft data technologies.
What We're Looking For
Beyond technical skills, we particularly value someone who:
- Thinks logically – approaches problems systematically and understands how different pieces of information connect.
- Enjoys solving problems – is curious, asks the right questions, and investigates issues rather than simply reporting them.
- Documents their work – understands the importance of creating clear, reusable technical documentation.
- Takes ownership – is reliable, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to develop your Power BI, data analysis, and technical skills.
- Hands-on experience with real business challenges and reporting solutions.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
- The chance to make a meaningful impact through data-driven improvements.
