Serverfarm Critical Facilities Services (SFCFS) provides two main functions. SFCFS seeks to deliver uninterrupted power and cooling to each data centre in the Serverfarm portfolio. This is complemented by providing remote monitoring services to both internal sites and external clients.

The Data Centre Technician is a team facing role and is vital in leading our operational team delivery and standards within our 24/7, 365‑day facility. This person should have the technical ability and willingness to develop the site into a self‑sufficient operation where possible.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturer recommendations
• Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS
• Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
• Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
• Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event
• Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures
• Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
• Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
• Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
• Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site
• Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
• Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure

Required Skills

• 1+ year mechanical, electrical, or HVAC experience
• Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure, with changing, and often conflicting priorities to meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating critical environments
• Level 3 award for electrical installations and/or level 2‑3 diploma in electrical installations
• Operating and maintaining chilled water‑cooling systems
• Operating and maintaining backup electrical systems such as UPS and generators
• Operating Building Management systems and Fire alarm and detection systems
• An understanding of the Data Centre environment, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments
