Role: Junior Construction Delivery Manager

Position: Contract

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Duration: 12 Months Rolling

Day Rate Up to a maximum of: £412 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // £560 p/d Umbrella

Job Opportunity

As a Construction Delivery Manager (CDM), you will support the oversight and coordination of a defined area within the Civils or Mechanical scope. Working closely with Senior CDMs, contractors, logistics teams, planning, health & safety, and quality functions, you’ll ensure construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with strict regulatory and project requirements.

Role Profile

This role is ideal for someone who is:

  • Ready to step up from Site Engineer, Section Engineer, Construction Supervisor, Works Coordinator, or similar
  • Keen to transition into a more strategic, oversight‑based role
  • Motivated by large, complex infrastructure projects
  • Looking to establish a long‑term career in Nuclear New Build
Principal Accountabilities

Your responsibilities will be diverse, challenging, and crucial to project success:

  • Construction Oversight & Delivery
    • Support the delivery of construction activities within your allocated area.
    • Review method statements, sequencing, progress plans and resource allocations.
    • Monitor works on site and log findings through daily construction reports.
    • Recommend temporary mitigation measures for safety or quality risks.
  • Coordination & Communication
    • Act as a key link between contractors, project controls, logistics, commercial, H&S, and QA teams.
    • Attend pre‑start briefings and help cascade key daily messages.
    • Organise and lead PLOD/PLOW meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow‑up actions.
  • Safety, Quality & Assurance
    • Undertake safety and assurance inspections aligned to the project’s HSPI requirements.
    • Support the identification and escalation of potential quality issues before they impact delivery.
    • Ensure the project maintains high standards in line with safety and nuclear culture expectations.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years construction experience (Civils, MEH, or major infrastructure).
  • Background in regulated industries such as nuclear, pharmaceuticals, petrochem, chemical, oil & gas.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, constraints, and site logistics.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH

Highly Desirable

  • Experience on large, complex, or high‑security sites.
  • Familiarity with nuclear culture, behaviours, quality requirements, or assurance processes.
  • Strong stakeholder and contractor coordination experience.
