Job summary

Spirax Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Junior Developer to join the team building the cloud platform behind our connected industrial products. The role offers production code work with guidance from senior engineers and a clear path into the codebase.

You will work on backend features in C#/.NET or TypeScript, front end with React, data pipelines, tests, and CI/CD. Two to three years of commercial experience is sought, with a genuine interest in cloud engineering.

Qualifications

• Approximately two to three years of commercial software development experience.
• Solid grounding in at least one modern language, ideally C# or TypeScript.
• Understanding of how a web application fits together: HTTP, REST, JSON, and databases.
• Experience with Git and a pull-request workflow.
• Experience writing automated tests.
• Clear written communication and ability to articulate problems.
• Interest in cloud engineering; Azure experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend features in C#/.NET or TypeScript with tests.
• Develop the front end with React and TypeScript.
• Help develop data pipelines decoding device telemetry and computing engineering values.
• Write and run automated tests.
• Take part in code review.
• Deploy your own work through CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate and fix defects with guidance then independently.
• Contribute to design discussions and stand-ups.
• Keep documentation up to date.
