Job description

We are looking for a junior clinical fellow to be based within the PTC team at St George's Hospital on a 10 month fixed term contract. There is one post providing clinical fellow level cover to our PTC service. This post will work with the oncology ANP team and jointly cover a rota with the ANP team. The post will deliver an advanced level of care and play a key role in the clinical management of paediatric oncology patients, acting as a role model and expert practitioner in paediatric oncology and paediatric venous access.

The working days are long day shifts (08:30-21:00).

This post in paediatric oncology is suitable for a junior doctor wishing to gain experience in paediatric oncology, for those wishing to pursue a career in Tertiary Paediatric Oncology, or as a stand‑alone post providing training for generalists with a specialist interest (i.e. shared care oncology).

The PTC across the two sites (St George's works closely with the Royal Marsden to provide a PTC) has 240 new malignant registrations per year, including children with leukaemia, central nervous system and extra cranial tumours. Children are referred from south of the Thames, Kent and the south coast, although for early phase studies patients are referred from all around the UK via defined referral networks, with a third of patients recruited to paediatric early phase studies coming from out of region.
