Responsibilities

• Assisting in providing plastic surgical services to the Trust.
• Examining and clerking in patients prior to procedures.
• Supporting the plastic surgery ward round each morning.
• Taking responsibility for inpatient care on the ward.
• Completing discharge summaries and request forms.
• Supporting a 1 in 7 SHO level on-call rota.
• Participating in the clinical audit programme.
• Delivery of emergency care in the Hand Assessment Unit.
• Supporting the operating teams in theatre.

Job description

Plastic Surgery Clinical Assistant Responsibilities

• Assisting in providing plastic surgical services to the Trust
• Examining and clerking in patients prior to both elective and emergency procedures
• Supporting the plastic surgery ward round each morning Monday - Friday
• Taking responsibility for inpatient care on the ward alongside the Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
• Completing discharge summaries and request forms for investigation
• Supporting a 1 in 7 SHO level day and night-time on-call rota
• Active involvement and participation in the clinical audit programme
• Delivery of emergency care in the Hand Assessment Unit
• Supporting the operating teams in theatre and treatment rooms.
