Job description

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics

The closing date is 16 November 2025

Location: Royal Brompton, Sydney Street, London, SW3 6NP. Due to the integration of inpatient services, this role may be cross‑site at Evelina London Children's Hospital.

Contract length: 6 months with the option to extend up to 23 months with mutual agreement

Our internationally recognised cardio‑respiratory centre, the Royal Brompton Hospital, has opportunities for Junior Clinical Fellows to join our Paediatric Medical team. Those appointed to the position will work alongside speciality trainees and share in the educational and practical training opportunities across three paediatric specialities – Cardiology, Respiratory and Intensive care.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of our more senior clinical fellows and consultant team, the Junior Clinical Fellows provide care across the paediatric inpatient setting – Rose Ward, the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and high dependency beds split across both areas. Our day‑care unit, part of Rose Ward, is growing and has recently expanded to include a Rapid Access Service. Junior Fellows will support this service which is led by the Clinical Fellow team. As an organisation committed to education and training, time is built into the rota to enable Junior Fellows to spend further time in their chosen subspecialty and undertake supporting professional activities. We also require our Junior Fellows to attend outpatient clinics in an observational role to support their development. Opportunities to engage in audit and research projects are also available to those who are interested.
