A reputable healthcare institution in Chorley is seeking a Junior Trust Doctor in Medicine to provide compassionate care in Diabetes and General Medicine wards. The Junior Trust Doctor in Medicine is responsible for the admission and care of patients in Diabetes / General Medicine wards. The Junior medical cover consists of two Clinical Fellows working alongside one Foundation Year trainee and one Internal Medicine trainee. They will be supervised by one Specialist trainee and one Senior Clinical Fellow and consultants. They are expected to present their cases during ward rounds, maintain full, clear clinical notes, and make appropriate handovers. They are also responsible for looking after patients and making necessary referrals.
Middle grade doctors will be present on site to supervise them at all times. The post-holder will be required to be as flexible as possible in respect of working hours, allowing some flexibility. Junior doctors may be asked to work on either hospital site in the event of emergencies.
The post holder will have the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics and undertake audit and quality improvement activities. There will also be opportunities to take part in teaching and supervision of FY1s, medical students and other health professionals.
