A reputable Engineering Design Consultancy based in Swansea is looking for a Junior CAD Technician to join their design team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience with 3D AutoCAD and a minimum ONC/HNC level of education. This role involves providing CAD support, creating 3D models, and assisting with site surveys. Opportunity to work on diverse industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with 3D AutoCAD/Plant Design Software.
• Experience with Intergraph Cadworx Plant 3D or AutoCAD Advanced Steel is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of structural steel design and construction drawings required.

Junior CAD Technician

Salary: £28 - £34k, depending on experience. Location: Swansea. Duration: Permanent Position.

A reputable, Swansea-based Engineering Design Consultancy are looking to recruit a Junior CAD Technician for their growing design office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated CAD Technician to join an experienced engineering team. The ideal candidate will have some Mechanical, Piping and/or Steelwork 3D CAD Modelling experience.

The Role

You will form part of a close‑knit team providing CAD support to senior designers, creating 3D models and 2D detailed drawings for a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Water & Sewage, Heavy Engineering and Process Plant. Most projects generally include a combination of bespoke process piping and associated structural steel, including piping supports and access platforming.

You will assist with visits, surveys and 3D scanning on numerous industrial sites.

Requirements

• ONC/HNC level of education as a minimum.
• 2+ years’ minimum experience working with 3D AutoCAD/Plant Design Software.
• Some experience of Intergraph Cadworx Plant 3D, AutoCAD Advanced Steel and Revit would be a distinct advantage.
• Some basic knowledge of pipework and/or structural steel design and construction drawings.
• Knowledge and awareness of British, EN & ANSI standards (Piping & Steelwork).
• Good communication, numeracy and IT skills.
