Job summary

Soho Home in London is seeking a Junior Buyer and Product Developer to support sourcing and development for Lighting and Home Accessories. You will assist in optimizing the buying function, executing design briefs to a high standard, and supporting a small team to ensure accuracy and profitability.

You will manage admin tasks, maintain calendars, and collaborate with design and technical teams to ensure quality, safety and timely delivery across UK, EU and US markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in product development and commercial buying.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with a varied supply base (domestic, European and Far East).

Responsibilities

• Oversee development critical path with the Buying and Product Development Manager, ensuring milestones are met.
• Manage admin tasks along the product lifecycle from brief to first production and trading.
• Maintain the seasonal development tracker and input key dates.
• Lead and mentor Buying and Product Development Assistant when required.
• Collaborate with design to meet price and margin targets.
• Issue seasonal briefs to suppliers with clear specs and deadlines.
• Attend design/production meetings and inspect final samples.
• Communicate product approvals to suppliers with attention to detail.
• Work with Technical team to ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Assist with meeting prep and ad-hoc department tasks.
• Lead department trade preparation in the manager's absence.
• Drive commercial analysis with Merchandising to maximise brand sales.
• Compile competitive analysis for UK and US markets.
• Support sub-category ranging for UK, EU and US markets.
• Travel to trade fairs and factories when required.
