Job summary

STEREO in Covent Garden, London, is seeking a bartender to deliver high-quality beverage experiences while maintaining efficient bar operations and exceptional guest service. You will craft and serve cocktails with precision, keep a clean, organized bar, and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Responsibilities include mastering the cocktail menu, coordinating with servers, handling opening/closing duties, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn and prepare menu cocktails and classics, using precise measures and clean tools.
• Greet guests, seat clients, and ensure excellent service in cooperation with servers.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and manage opening/closing duties per procedure.
• Communicate inventory needs and guest feedback to the Bar Manager.

Inspired by the vibrant late-night cultures of New York and London, complete with the undertones of Parisian chic, STEREO offers a masterfully curated mix of music, food, and drinks. STEREO features an extensive drinks menu, American inspired culinary bar classics, and an eclectic and dynamic music programme. The bar offering sees local products from Partizan Brewery and Thames Distillers (including a STEREO house vodka & gin). The music ties it all together, with a rotating series of resident DJs and curated one-off performances.

Role Overview

Responsible for delivering a high-quality beverage experiencewhile ensuring efficient bar operations and excellent guest service. This roleinvolves preparing and serving cocktails with precision, maintaining a cleanand organised bar environment, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cocktails

• Learn thecocktails on the menu and the list of classic cocktails provided. Understandand know about the products used.
• Prepare andserve high-quality cocktails, respecting our basic rules: use of jiggers at alltimes, perfectly measured, clean bar tools, swift response time. All whileadhering to our principle of aiming to provide the best drinking experiencewithout a hint of pretension.
• Communicate tothe servers and barbacks their needs well in advance.

Guest Relation

• Greet andinteract with guests.
• In cooperationwith the Servers, ensure that the client is seated, provided with a menu, andthoroughly taken care of from that point forward.
• If the serveris absent for whatever reason, the bartender nonetheless ensures that theclient’s needs are covered.
• Create awelcoming environment for guests, assess their needs, present the cocktailsmenu and make recommendations.
• Take drinksorders.

Cleanliness,opening and closing of the bar

• Responsible forthe opening and the closing of the bar, following the procedural list, from theset-up to taking out the rubbish at the end of the evening, and everything inbetween.
• The opening andclosing duties are part of a collective effort from all team members, as is thecleanliness of the bar throughout the entire service.
• Apply all foodand beverage safety and quality regulations.

Communication& Reporting

• Communicatewith the Bar Manager for inventory issues, client comments, and generalreporting.
• Comply with allreasonable direction and/or requests from the Management Team.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in a similar role withina cocktail bar.
• Have excellent spirits& classic cocktails knowledge.
• Attention to details and customerneeds.
• Social, engaging and motivated.
• Flexibility to respond quickly andpositively to a range of work situations.
• Be well spoken with excellentcommunication skills.
• Knowledge as well as abilities inother languages would be beneficial.
• Proof of eligibility to work in theUK.
