Job summary

SR2 is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join a central government programme on a multi-year path. You will design and maintain data pipelines, work with AWS cloud-native platforms, and gain hands-on experience with Kafka, Terraform and Java.

You will grow your skills across data processing, ETL/ELT, and CI/CD while collaborating with experienced engineers on secure, scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in data engineering and data pipelines.
• Active SC clearance is required.
• Willingness to learn and upskill across cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data-processing services.
• Developing solutions using Python, SQL and potentially Java.
• Working with AWS and cloud-native data platforms.
• Gaining hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, streaming data and event-driven architectures.
• Learning and applying Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Supporting ETL/ELT processes, data transformation and integration.
• Contributing to CI/CD, automated deployments and production support.
• Collaborating with experienced engineers and architects to develop your tech
