Job summary

Trainline seeks an Android engineer to join our Mobile team, focusing on Kotlin-based development for our rail app. You will work in a cross-functional team, embracing agile practices and clean code, delivering new features and improvements across the Android platform.

You will collaborate with Product, QA, and backend teams to drive roadmaps, ensure high quality releases, and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Proven Kotlin experience for Android apps.
• Strong Android UI/UX sensibility and performance focus.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Familiar with SOLID, design patterns and clean code principles.

Introducing our Mobile team

You would be joining one of our 3 Mobile platform teams. We set the technical direction and provide the shared foundations, tools and standards that enable engineers to build, release and evolve the app safely and quickly. We are also responsible for the main quality metrics of the app to make it feel quick and reliable on the devices of our customers. Key technologies include: Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, Dagger, SOLID principles with a huge focus on quality and clean code.

As an Engineer at Trainline, you will...

• Be a part of a cross-functional team that will contribute to the design and implementation of our software in the product for Android users.
• Appreciate the value of agile and of engineering practices, and solid, clean code.
• Be actively involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle.
• Work closely with the team and Product to help drive & deliver roadmaps.
• Help to build and deliver software using Agile practices (SCRUM, two weeks iterations), continuous integration and pair programming.
• Be delivering new functionalities and features, using the best tools and techniques for the job.
