We are now recruiting for a Joinery Workshop Manager to assume overall responsibility for leading and managing the joinery operations within the workshop. As a key figure in our production team, you’ll support continuous improvement, and help drive our commitment to craftsmanship and client satisfaction.

As our Joinery Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Logistics Manager to ensure programmes and key dates are met.
  • Reviewing job boards and ensure the team understands all work instructions, drawings, and schedules; plan works and raise queries promptly.
  • Monitoring progress against programme tasks and report issues to the Production Manager.
  • Supporting materials control by checking stock levels, preparing ordering lists, and organising job materials.
  • Recording completed works and report for production close-out.
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the workshop floor.
  • Ensuring materials, tools, and finished goods are stored safely and efficiently.
  • Managing packaging and loading of goods for deliveries.
  • Issuing clear work instructions and drawings to the team.
  • Supporting workshop cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and property upkeep.
  • Delivering activity briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Conducting weekly visual checks on tools, machinery, and vehicles, reporting issues.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and correct waste management.
  • Carrying out quality control checks during and after manufacture and flagging defects or issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and FSC requirements.
  • Supervising and motivate joiners, apprentices, and finishers.
  • Providing on-the-job training, guidance, and support.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for staff queries.
  • Escalating performance or resource concerns to the Production Manager.

In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:

  • Proven experience in a joinery or manufacturing workshop environment, preferably in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and workshop procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
