A well-established joinery company based in Swindon is seeking a Joinery CAD Designer. The candidate will produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD, collaborate with designers, and ensure product accuracy through site surveys and component ordering. Responsibilities

Overview

Excellent opportunity for a Joinery CAD Designer to join a well-established company based in Swindon.

The Company: Established for over 50 years, they have a proud history of producing excellent joinery. A family run business, quality is at the very heart of what they do. They are now looking for a CAD Designer with joinery experience. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Bench Joiner who is already working in a CAD role or who is looking to move into CAD. If required, full training will be provided. They are not able to sponsor workers from overseas so you must have the right to work in the UK and be based within commuting distance of Swindon.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed joinery manufacturing drawings from design specifications/draft drawings provided by the client or the client’s designer/architect using AutoCAD software.
  • Liaise regularly with the client or their designer/architect to ensure you are matching their brief and to obtain approval for your drawings.
  • Undertake site surveys where required to ensure products are designed to the correct size and specification.
  • Research and order component parts such as ironmongery, glass and metalwork using our supply chain.
  • Keep close to the products as they are manufactured in the workshop to ensure they are in line with what you have designed and agreed with the client.
  • Work on a wide range of joinery, including external doors and windows, bespoke wardrobes and cabinets, and shopfitting fixtures.
  • Collaborate with contractors and luxury brands when applicable (e.g., Skanska, ISG, Beards; Chanel, Harrods, Selfridges).
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience as a bench joiner is essential to understand how items will be manufactured.
  • CAD experience is desirable; familiarity with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Inventor is preferred, but full training can be provided for candidates with a strong joinery background and an interest in drawing.
  • Role is based full-time in the office; flexible working hours may be available.
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to commute to Swindon.
  • Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on experience.
