Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Joiner for an ongoing contract based in Newcastle. The Joiner will be responsible for installing doors, fitting and repairing windows, and constructing kitchen units and cabinetry. Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Carpentry and Joinery, a valid DBS, and a CSCS Card. The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence and adherence to building regulations and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence necessary.

Responsibilities

Our client in Newcastle is looking for an experienced Joiner to join their team on an ongoing contract.

Job Specification
  • Install internal and external doors including timber, composite, and UPVC types.
  • Fit and repair windows in residential settings, ensuring proper insulation and security.
  • Construct and install kitchen units, worktops, and cabinetry.
  • Lay flooring such as timber boards, laminate, and engineered wood.
  • Fit skirting boards, architraves, and mouldings to enhance interior finishes.
  • Build and install staircases, balustrades, and handrails.
  • Erect timber fencing and gates for gardens and boundaries.
  • Construct roof frames and soffits as part of structural timber work.
  • Carry out general timber repairs including joists, beams, and floorboards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Liaise with clients and other tradespeople to coordinate work effectively.
