Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a qualified Joiner for permanent, full-time work based from our Manchester hub in the North West region. You will join a skilled team delivering high-quality joinery across residential and commercial sites, with 39 contracted hours per week.

The role requires NVQ in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent), the ability to read technical drawings, and a valid UK driving licence. Tools and PPE are provided as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in joinery or carpentry, ideally within maintenance or construction.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification) preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work from plans.
• Full UK driving licence and own tools are advantageous but will be supplied if needed.
• Strong health & safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out joinery tasks, both structural and decorative.
• Measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials to specification.
• Installing doors, windows, skirting boards, and fittings.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and work plans.
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintaining tools and ensuring a clean, safe work area.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Joiner, you'll carry out a wide range of joinery tasks, both structural and decorative. Your responsibilities will include:

• Measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials to specification
• Installing doors, windows, skirting boards, and other fittings
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work plans
• Using and maintaining hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Performing general repairs and replacing damaged woodwork or fixtures
• Erecting access equipment and setting up temporary screening as needed
• Monitoring stock levels and requesting materials in advance
• Keeping your work area clean, tidy, and organised
• Working collaboratively with other trades and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery

Proven experience:

Proven experience in joinery or carpentry, ideally within maintenance or construction

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification) preferred
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work from technical drawings
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Basic IT/smartphone skills to log and record job activity
• Full UK driving licence and own tools are advantageous but will be supplied if needed.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and regulations

£17.00 per hour

• Permanent, full-time position with 39 contracted hours per week
