Job description

Key role offering the opportunity to oversee all customer visits to MBDA and manage all heritage material for MBDA UK.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver all course visits, non‑senior management visits and assist in supporting VIP visits to MBDA UK sites. This will include liaison with the visitor's Outer Office, internal communications, producing a Visit Programme, site tour, security clearances and all elements of the logistical organisation, hospitality and presentations as agreed in consultation with the MBDA host(s).
  • Physical management of the visit on the day, including travel to other sites if required.
  • Deputise for VIP Customer Visits and Heritage Officer MBDA UK as and when required.
  • Assist with the delivery of the annual live‑stream employee CEO/UK MD update, managing logistics for the senior team site visit programme on behalf of the MD’s office.
  • Maintain the annual VIP and Course Visits Forecast.
  • Management of the dedicated Visits & Events Area, including all equipment, bookings and swipe access.
  • Manage missile models and materiel held by the Department.
  • Record relevant details of all visits as part of the heritage role.
Heritage
  • Actively locate, record and catalogue heritage material across MBDA UK.
  • Assist in managing the MBDA UK SharePoint Heritage Portal and all material within.
  • Control access and permissions to the MBDA UK SharePoint Heritage Portal.
  • Assist in managing the heritage WeWatch channel and uploading new material.
  • Co‑owner of the Corporate Social Network intranet Heritage site.
  • Promote and advertise widely across the business the MBDA UK SharePoint Heritage Portal, responding to comments and encouraging conversations around the SharePoint site.
  • Provide material on MBDA heritage when required.
  • Maintain the Heritage Missile displays across sites, including sourcing additional display items where possible.
  • Assist in providing an annual report on key milestones and significant events across all sites.
  • Liaise with each site's Heritage volunteers with the aim to maintain all local records centrally.

  • The ability to confidently interact with senior VIPs and their Outer Offices.

  • Adequate knowledge of the business and purpose of each Directorate.
  • An ability to manage detailed visit programmes against taught timelines.
  • Understanding of UK MoD structure, departments within and roles of senior customers.
  • Awareness and understanding of cultural differences and requirements for visits.
  • Personal interest in history and heritage.
  • Attention to detail to support cataloguing heritage material.
