Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Jigs & Tools Industrialization Project Engineer on an initial 12‑month contract. As the Jigs & Tools Industrialization Project Engineer, you are responsible for the industrialization of Single Aisle Jigs and Tools, managing tooling projects from concept through to operational handover. The successful candidate will integrate industrial technologies in coordination with R&D, define and specify Jigs and Tools assets, and provide support to production investigations using tooling and metrology expertise.

Pay: £37.12 per hour via umbrella
Location: Broughton
Contract: Monday‑Friday, 375 Hours per week, 12‑Month Contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS

Responsibilities
  • Ensure successful industrialisation of Jigs and Tools assets (creation, development and modification) until final acceptance and handover to the corresponding Operations Manager
  • Integrate mature industrial technologies in link with R&D. Collaborate with R&D to integrate requirements and consolidate the company Industrial Vision
  • Design and/or specify the requested Jigs and Tools assets according to requirements from Manufacturing Engineering Process Engineers, Operations, Health and Safety and Ergonomics, Maintenance Engineers and Plant/ FAL Quality Assurance
  • Ensure the provided solution is fully integrated within the industrial system through a robust acceptance process set on defined Key Performance Indicators
  • Integrate Maintenance inputs/feedback in Jig & Tool Work Specification
  • Support Finance activities to elaborate the CapEx and/or OpEx dossier
  • Support Plants/FALs in all the activities where a Jig and/or Tool asset is involved
  • Support root cause analysis of Non Conformities and improvement projects
  • Contribute to the purchasing phases of the Jigs and Tools assets
  • Manage and lead Suppliers when applicable to ensure all Projects and Deliverables meet the required milestones
Essential Skills
  • Experienced within jigs and tooling, ideally within aviation would be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ability to operate from first principles in manufacturing disciplines and activities requiring technical skills and knowledge to make daily business decisions.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Design and other Business Information Systems.
  • Strong project management experience
  • Experienced knowledge of aircraft production, and engineering methods and procedures.
  • Leadership skills, and self‑motivated are desirable.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management
