Job summary

A1 Group in Wokingham is seeking a hands-on Driver’s Mate to support the JetVac Tanker Driver. You will assist with hose handling, jetting, suction, and general site tasks to ensure safe, efficient operations and high standards.

The role is based at the Wokingham depot, with standard hours Mon–Fri, 7am–5pm, weekend shifts and overtime available, and immediate start for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor environments.
• CSCS card or Confined Space Training is advantageous; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist the JetVac Tanker Driver with day-to-day operations.
• Help set up and operate jetting and suction equipment.
• Handle hoses and support with pipework connections.
• Maintain safe working practices on-site at all times.
• Assist with confined space operations (if trained).
• Carry out general labouring duties as required.
• Represent the company professionally with clients and the public.
• Report any equipment faults or site issues to the driver/manager.

Established in 1990, A1 Wokingham Wet Wastedeliver innovative, integrated drainage and waste management solutions for both commercial and domestic customers across the South East of England. Our work includes domestic CCTV and drain unblocking, cesspit and septic tank emptying and larger commercial work such as welfare servicing for companies such like HS2 and long-term drainage maintenance for customer like The Royal Parks.

About The Role

Working out of our Wokingham depot, A1 Wokingham Wet Waste are looking to recruit a JetVac Drivers Mate.

As a Driver’s Mate, you will support the JetVac Tanker Driver in the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and equipment. This is a hands‑on role that involves assisting with hose handling, jetting, suction, and general site support. You’ll play a key role in ensuring jobs are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the JetVac Tanker Driver with day-to-day operations.

Help set up and operate jetting and suction equipment.

Handle hoses and support with pipework connections.

Maintain safe working practices on-site at all times.

Assist with confined space operations (if trained).

Carry out general labouring duties as required.

Represent the company professionally with clients and the public.

Requirements

Previous experience in drainage or construction (desirable but not essential).

Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor environments.

Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a team.

CSCS card or Confined Space Training (advantageous but training can be provided).

Positive, can‑do attitude with good communication skills.

Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.

Standard working hours Monday - Friday, 7am-5pm

Weekend shifts and overtime are available also.

Driver to start immediately.
