Job Title: Engineering Manager (Java)

As an Engineering Manager in the Global Streaming - Discovery Engineering department, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering scalable, high-performance microservices to support global content platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, analysts, and SREs to deliver robust services and unblock delivery challenges.
• Oversee day-to-day team operations including standups, sprint planning, hiring, performance feedback, and people development.
• Drive project delivery from initiation to production with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Ensure operational excellence and effective support for production systems.
• Promote high engineering standards including SLOs, SLAs, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, product, and reliability teams to ensure seamless integration and solution delivery.
• Organize and run cross-team workshops and alignment sessions to keep delivery and priorities on track.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in OTT (over-the-top) video streaming technologies.
• Background in both software delivery and operational support.
• Hands-on engineering experience with:
• Java and other JVM
• Microservices in Kubernetes and Docker
• AWS cloud services
• Kafka, relational databases
• TDD, BDD, CI/CD pipelines
• Scalable, observable, highly available system design
• Applied knowledge of Agile and Lean delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, continuous improvement).
• Strong communication skills, able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Demonstrated leadership in solving technical and team challenges while fostering innovation.
• Experience in people management: goal setting, coaching, and performance development.
