Job summary

Burns Sheehan Limited is partnering with a leading FinTech to hire a Java Engineer who will help modernise a large-scale platform and build cloud-native applications.

You will work with experienced engineers, using Java, Spring Boot, CI/CD and AI-assisted tooling to deliver high-quality software in a collaborative engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable Java applications.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development and automation tools to improve testing, documentation and delivery.
• Champion clean code, automated testing, security and continuous improvement.
• Support production systems while driving platform reliability and performance.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining scalable applications using Java and modern engineering practices
• Contributing across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support
• Collaborating with Product, Engineering and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Using AI-assisted development and automation tools to improve testing, documentation and delivery
• Championing clean code, automated testing, security and continuous improvement
• Supporting production systems while helping drive platform reliability and performance
