Job summary

Burns Sheehan partners with a leading FinTech to hire a Java Engineer who will help modernise a large-scale platform. You’ll design, build and operate cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot within a collaborative engineering team.

You’ll work across the full software lifecycle, embrace CI/CD, automated testing and Agile practices, and you’ll use AI-assisted development tools to improve testing and delivery while driving platform reliability.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot, with practical CI/CD experience.
• Experience with automated testing and validation practices.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and deliver iterative software.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining scalable applications using Java and modern engineering practices
• Contributing across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support
• Collaborating with Product, Engineering and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Using AI-assisted development and automation tools to improve testing, documentation and delivery
• Championing clean code, automated testing, security and continuous improvement
• Supporting production systems while helping drive platform reliability and performance
