Job summary

Halliburton in Abingdon, Oxfordshire is seeking a skilled Java developer with 3+ years’ experience. You will contribute to design, development, and maintenance of subsurface evaluation solutions across the energy sector and join a team that trains up in processes.

This is a hybrid position requiring attendance at the Abingdon office a minimum of three days per week. The role covers desktop and web applications, REST APIs, and security best practices, with collaboration across stakeholder groups

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Java Core and related frameworks required.
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and security basics.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes (Scrum or Kanban).
• Proactive learner capable of picking up new technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain desktop and web applications using Java.
• Implement new services, features, and bug fixes as prioritized by the Product Owner.
• Build and integrate APIs to enable seamless communication between services.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
• Write clean, well-documented code and implement automated tests to ensure quality.
