£55k‑£70k | UK‑based | Hybrid | Full‑time

A fast‑moving tech team is looking for a solid Java developer to join them in a unique automation‑focused role. You'll be helping convert manual test cases into automated ones, building out the testing framework, and solving real technical challenges. It's not a long‑term testing role; the goal is to transition back into full development once the automation side is up and running.

What you'll be doing
  • Writing clean Java code to automate existing manual test cases
  • Tackling technical challenges in a fast‑paced environment
  • Working closely with developers to raise the automation bar
  • Eventual move back into the core development team
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years of Java experience
  • No testing experience required, just a willingness to learn
  • Strong technical problem‑solving skills
  • Someone who is happy to own their work and grow with the team
Why this role

It's a great opportunity for a developer who is curious about automation and wants to make a real impact in the MedTech world without getting stuck in testing forever. You'll be trusted to build something meaningful, with a clear path back into product development.

Benefits

Maximum salary of £70k, plus bonus, pension, medical cover, life insurance, 25 days holiday and a quick interview process.
