Job summary

Scrumconnect Consulting, based in Swansea, is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design and build scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. You will work on RESTful services, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms in a collaborative, hybrid setup.

Ideal candidates have strong Java/Spring Boot expertise, experience with microservices, REST APIs, databases, and modern DevOps practices. The role supports a flexible hybrid model with on-site presence in Swansea, South Wales.

Qualifications

• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Strong database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Understanding of secure coding practices and application performance tuning.
• Experience with Git and Agile methodologies.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate should have experience working on large-scale digital platforms, including exposure to public sector or standards-driven environments such as GDS-aligned projects.
