Job summary

A leading technology firm in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Java Developer for a 6-month contract role. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Java and Spring Boot, with proven experience integrating AI/ML models into production. Responsibilities include developing microservices, building event-driven architectures, and deploying services in cloud environments. This hybrid position is outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Strong Java & Spring Boot engineering background.

• Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Financial Services experience (payments, trading, risk, fraud, etc).

Our client is looking for a Java Developer to join them on a contract basis for 6 months, outside IR35 with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java (11+) / Spring Boot microservices.

• Integrate and deploy AI/ML models into production systems.

• Work closely with data science teams to operationalise models (APIs, pipelines).

• Build and support event-driven architectures (Kafka).

• Ensure FS-grade security, compliance, testing, and reliability.

• Deploy services to cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) via CI/CD.

Required Skills

• Strong Java & Spring Boot engineering background.

• Proven experience integrating AI/ML into live applications.

• Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• SQL/NoSQL database experience.

• Background in Financial Services (payments, trading, risk, fraud, etc).

Nice to Have

• Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform.

• ML model serving (MLflow, Seldon, SageMaker).

• Experience with low-latency or high-availability FS systems.
