Job summary

A leading IT Consultancy is seeking Java AWS Developer Engineers to work on a contract basis for a Financial Services client. Candidates must commit to working onsite in Farnborough twice a week. Responsibilities include migrating on-premises services to AWS, updating pipelines, and upgrading components. Required skills include Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and more.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java 17 and 21 is essential.
• Proficient in Junit 5 and Cucumber for testing.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot 3 and 4 is required.
• Familiarity with Development tools like Gradle, GitHub, Nexus, Artifactory, Sonar, and Jacoco.
• Experience with databases such as HBase and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Migrate on-premises services to OCP in AWS.
• Update pipelines to utilize in-house Trident solution.
• Upgrade components from Spring Boot 3.5 to 4.
• Create new services or data sinks that are single responsibility and integrate with Kafka.
• Facilitate service decommissions.
• Perform Business As Usual (BAU) work.

You will be required to work onsite in Farnborough 2 times per week. Please DO NOT apply unless you can commit to this.

Experience/Skills Required:

• - Java 17, 21
• - Junit 5, Cucumber
• - Spring Boot 3, 4
• - Tooling (Gradle, GitHub, Nexus, Artifactory, Sonar, Jacoco)
• - Kafka
• - Kubernetes, Helm
• - Databases (Preferably HBase, PostgreSQL)
• - Jenkins and CICD

Work Profile for First 6 months:

• - Migrate on-premises services to OCP in AWS.
• - Update pipelines to use in-house Trident solution.
• - Upgrade all components from Spring Boot 3.5 to 4.
• - Creation of new services or data sinks that are single responsibility and publish/consume from Kafka.
• - Service decommissions.
• - BAU work.
