About Sparta Global

Embark on a transformative career journey with Sparta Global, where diversity, innovation, and passion for technology converge. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, offering not just jobs, but dynamic careers in the tech industry. You'll work alongside enthusiastic professionals, receiving top-tier training and mentorship to hone your skills for success in Java Engineering and Testing. Our commitment to designing impactful careers and coaching future leaders is evident in our over 10 prestigious awards in Learning & Development and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. As a Top 20 Employer for Social Mobility and a proud B-Corp certified organisation, we're not just advancing careers; we're fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive tech landscape. Grounded in AI adoption, taught by expert trainers, our Consultants enter client projects with the most contemporary AI practices and digital confidence. Join us in shaping the future of technology - where your growth is our mission, and your success, our pride.

About this role
  • You will develop your technical and AI skills in the most exciting industry ready material available today.

  • You will become a versatile Java Automation Engineer, learning every step of the software development lifecycle - designing, building, testing, automating and releasing in Java. You will then receive continuous training to become as well-rounded and marketable as possible.

  • You will improve your soft skills, professional communication, teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution and agile understanding.

  • You will work closely with other developers, designers, analysts and testers to create, maintain and modify systems to meet the ever-evolving demands of our client. Learn how to combine the skills of a developer with the mindset of a tester.

  • You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, troubleshoot and debug issues with existing software, participate in code reviews and provide feedback and new ideas, ironing out the project requirements or planning on how to tackle challenges.

  • You will have access to ongoing support from our internal education platform, online courses and accredited certifications to constantly discover, research and learn new technologies to stay up to date with the latest trends in the industry.

  • Automation engineers eliminate defects, errors and problems with product or software development and with business or customer service IT processes. Businesses are increasingly embracing automation to help solve customer issues and automation engineers help implement that technology. Automation is also used to streamline IT help desk ticketing, service management and to deliver quality products and software faster, with fewer defects. Ultimately, the goal of an automation engineer is to reduce the load on workers and to improve efficiency and reliability by streamlining manual processes that are redundant or inconsistent.

  • Automation Engineers shepherd developers to help them write better and more resilient code. The explosion of DevOps means that Automation Engineers are more important than ever before as their multiple skills in test and development means they become key to building the CI/CD pipelines. Automation Engineers are also utilised well in an Agile environment to help with the pace of coding and testing that is required - they are multi-skilled, which is essential for Agile blended working. An Automation Engineer is what a good developer should be.

We're not expecting you to have the proficiencies right away - that's where our award-winning AI and Technology Institute comes in. We are the experts in building skills and confidence in a fun and supportive environment that will not only challenge you but also develop your specialist capabilities ready to work on our clients' projects.
