Overview

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic IT Technician to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their career in IT within an educational environment.

Interview date will be Friday, 27 February 2026. Position: IT Technician. Location: Abraham Moss Community School, Manchester.

Responsibilities

As an IT Technician at Abraham Moss Community School, you will provide first‑line hardware, software and peripheral support to all staff, students, third‑party visitors and Governors. You will complete helpdesk incident and problem requests in line with internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times. You will also take reactive support of all user‑operated IT and proactive support of AV equipment, ensuring that downtime through consumable life expectancy is kept to a minimum.

Qualifications
  • GCSE (including A* level) with C in Maths and English Language and an ICT‑related subject – essential
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and networks (training will be provided)
  • Good problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff and students who may not have technical knowledge
  • Organised approach to managing tasks and prioritising work
Experience
  • Educated to degree level within an ICT‑related subject – desirable
